Transition Letter

Fort Worth, Texas

A Message from R. Mack Sead, DDS, MAGD

July 20, 2024

Dear Patients and Friends,

For almost forty-five years, I have had the privilege to serve as a dentist in Fort Worth and more importantly, as your dentist. The loyalty of those of you receiving this letter has been more than remarkable and I will be forever grateful for that loyalty.

Over the last few years, many of you have expressed concern, and some of you have even experienced the care of the rapidly expanding corporate dental clinics. My team and I have always believed in caring for each of our patients as a whole person, not just as teeth. We hope you too have come to recognize the value of the solo practitioner dental experience.

Recently, I've been in search of a colleague that would appreciate the individual practice and value my patients. By this letter, I want to introduce you to Dr. Thomas J. Readel. Dr. Readel joined my office in January. He has been working Saturdays and continues to add days, as his current work commitment allows. Some of you have already met him and received treatment.

Starting September 1, 2024, he will be here daily and assume the management of the office. I will continue to be in the office and treat patients, but on a scaled back schedule.

A LITTLE BACKGROUND:

Dr. Readel comes from a long line of dentists. His father was a Navy dentist, as was his grandfather. Dr. Readel grew up in Sterling, Illinois and graduated from Notre Dame University in 2010, with a BS degree in Science Business. He attended Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, graduating in 2014 and from there began serving as a dentist in the U.S. Navy. Having been transferred to numerous places during his 10 years in the Navy, he and his wife, Keziah, landed here 3 years ago. He was to be transferred again, but with both having family in Texas and loving the Fort Worth area, they decided this will be "home." So, Dr. Readel's career in the Navy will be ending August 31st.

His wife, Keziah, is a dental hygienist. She was born in Manila, Philippines, grew up in Gurnee, Illinois, attended Shoreline Community College and graduated in 2020. She also has been working in our office since January and I've heard nothing but positive comments from patients regarding her skills and chair side manner.

You will still hear familiar voices when you call and see familiar faces when in the office - except one.

Mary Ann will be retiring at the end of August. For 28 years, she has been the voice and smiling face of our office. During this time, she was certified to take x-rays, she sterilized instruments, set up operatories, seated patients and when absolutely needed, assisted with treatment. All this in addition to running the front office, verifying insurance, following up on claims, handling patient financing, updating patient charts...and I can't begin to recall all of the "behind-the-scenes" tasks she took care of to keep the office going. Please, take a few minutes to let her know how much you appreciate all she has done and how much she will be missed.

For those of you enrolled in our discount program, the "MY SMILE PLAN", Dr. Readel recognizes the value of this for those without dental insurance and will continue the program.

I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Readel's ability to serve all of your future dental needs. Please do not hesitate to call and schedule an appointment with him.

With my best regard

R. Mack Sead, DDS, MAGD
